Dr. Julie Belanger
 
Dr. Julie Belanger grew up on the East Coast. She began her eye care career as an ophthalmic technician in 1997. Dr. Belanger received her Bachelor of Science in Biology and Spanish summa cum laude from Juniata College in Pennsylvania. During her junior year she lived abroad in Quito, Ecuador. In 2005, Dr. Belanger earned her Doctor of Optometry degree cum laude from The Ohio State University College of Optometry.

Dr. Belanger participated in an international mission trip in 2004 to Santo Domingo, la Republica Dominicana. Her Spanish fluency allowed her to translate for the team of eleven optometric students and optometrists.

Her interest in strabismus (crossed-eyes or wall-eyes) and specialty contact lens fitting led her to pursue a post-graduate residency at the University of California, Berkeley School of Optometry in both Binocular Vision and Contact Lens. In both 2007 and 2008, her clinical posters were accepted at regional optometric conferences. She is a member of the North Carolina Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. Dr. Belanger is part of the National Keratoconus Foundations referral service.

Dr. Belanger enjoys working with families and especially looks forward to visits from children. Always an avid learner, she takes pride in delivering thorough, state-of-the-art eye care. In her spare time, she enjoys the outdoors, photography and visits with family.
