Is it time for your next eye exam? There are a few things you should let us know about to help make sure your exam is a useful one.
Because eyes can be affected by seemingly unrelated health conditions, it's important that you inform us of any changes you are aware of. What are some conditions we'd need to know about? Here are a few examples: allergies, pregnancy, high blood pressure, diabetes or any other serious illness.
Things like drinking or smoking can have a negative effect on eyesight, so if these are parts of your lifestyle, let us know. Additionally, we will have a look at what you're actually using your eyes for. Do you work at a computer a lot? Knowing these facts will really make it simpler for us to determine your treatment plan.
And if there are any eye diseases that effect anyone in your family, you should inform us, because a few of them are hereditary. Having an understanding of the eye diseases you may be prone to will make it simpler for us to keep an eye out for and monitor any red flags.
Let us know if you observe any changes to your vision including double vision, blurriness, flashes of light or spots. We'll then do our very best to ascertain what's causing the symptom, and suggest the most appropriate treatment plan. It's also helpful if you bring your glasses along to your appointment. They give important information, even if you're a contact lens wearer. We look forward to seeing you, and making sure you get your best possible vision.
