Astigmatism - We have a new 2-week disposable high water contact lens from Bausch & Lomb that provides the most stable vision and comfort that we have ever seen. At the same time there are 2 new one-month disposables that show just as much promise. One is from the Wesley-Jessen Company and the other is from CooperVision.

Bifocals - We have 2 new bifocal lenses that really work with an amazing 80% success rate! On is from Acuvue and the other the SunSoft Company. These are disposable lenses with excellent comfort and vision.

Two-Week Disposables - The American Hydron's Versaflex high water disposable is not really new to us, but is new to most practices across the country and has new research to back up its effectiveness. For 2 years we have used this lens as our primary 2-week disposable. Dr. Fox has proclaimed it, "The most comfortable lens in the world". New research from the Southern College of Optometry has shown what we have known for 2 years, that up to 78% of all patients prefer Versaflex over whatever brand they are now wearing. We have always encouraged a week trial for no extra charge. We can always go back to the old lens type but in our office we have found that 76% of patients want to stay with Versaflex.

Extended for 1 Week - For patients that would like to sleep in their lenses for 1 week Bausch & Lomb has come out with a new 1-month disposable that is unlike any lens ever developed. Ten years in the making, the Pure Vision lenses provide four-and-a-half times the oxygen permeability of any other lens, making it the safest lens ever for extended wear. This lens receives our highest recommendation for 1-week continuous wear. It is also very good for patients with dry eyes.

Another 1 Week Extended Wear Lens - Bausch & Lomb has come out with another 2-week disposable that combines the highest water, the highest oxygen permeability of any 2-week lens. Excellent on-eye movement and handling give the Soft Lens 66 the qualities to receive our only other recommendation for 6 nights continuous if the lens is disposed of each week.

New Color Contact Lens - The Wesley-Jessen Company has come out with the Color Blends, a more natural-looking color disposable than any previous lens. Our patients are purchasing 70% of their color lenses in these new Color Blends. With the new monthly wear regimen and the W/J rebate our color lenses become even less expensive than the 2-week clear.

Cost Effective 1-Month Lens - Our clear Wesley-Jessen lens approved for 1 month now has the lowest cost of any disposable modality. The fee is $99 for 4 boxes with rebate for a full year's supply plus a free pair of 1-month color lenses, and a pair of 1-month trail clear lenses. This is an excellent bargain for a high water, easy handling quality lens with inversion indicator. (Not including professional fees.)
